Harbor Freight Tools - Unable to unsubscribe and no way to reach someone who can do something about it
I made the mistake (in retrospect) of signing up for coupons at Harbor Freight online because they were advertising a good price on something I needed. My inbox in inundated with multiple emails each week and after hitting "delete" for several weeks, I finally decided I should unsubscribe.
That was at least 9 months ago and I have "unsubscribed" at least half a dozen times. When I tried calling customer service, there are no options to talk to a customer service rep -- just "place order", "change existing order", etc. I know I could have chosen "place order" and eventually talked to a real person, but I also know that that person would not have been able to address my problem, so I didn't. I did call the local store and spoke with a very nice woman who gave me a number for their corporate offices.
When I called that # I reached a recording that told me to put in the 4-digit extension of the person I wanted to speak with, or I could look them up either by first name or last name. Useless!! Not even a departmental directory. When I called the local store back they looked for a name, couldn't find one themselves and finally admitted that when they want to reach someone they call the customer service line, select "place an order" and then ask to be transferred when they reach a real person.
Sheesh!! What an operation.
After reading the other reviews here, it is clear that this experience is not untypical. I will no longer be purchasing from Harbor Freight.

Yeah the customer service sucks, when trying cancel the magazine mailing list, they don't even answer either of there provided phone numbers on they're website. I dont want to be notified for they're crap anymore...
Same, the unsubscribe link in their emails is broken- very annoying.
