Unable to unsubscribe and no way to reach someone who can do something about it
I made the mistake (in retrospect) of signing up for coupons at Harbor Freight online because they were advertising a good price on something I needed. My inbox in inundated with multiple emails each week and after hitting "delete" for several weeks, I finally decided I should unsubscribe.
That was at least 9 months ago and I have "unsubscribed" at least half a dozen times. When I tried calling customer service, there are no options to talk to a customer service rep -- just "place order", "change existing order", etc. I know I could have chosen "place order" and eventually talked to a real person, but I also know that that person would not have been able to address my problem, so I didn't. I did call the local store and spoke with a very nice woman who gave me a number for their corporate offices.
When I called that # I reached a recording that told me to put in the 4-digit extension of the person I wanted to speak with, or I could look them up either by first name or last name. Useless!! Not even a departmental directory. When I called the local store back they looked for a name, couldn't find one themselves and finally admitted that when they want to reach someone they call the customer service line, select "place an order" and then ask to be transferred when they reach a real person.
Sheesh!! What an operation.
After reading the other reviews here, it is clear that this experience is not untypical. I will no longer be purchasing from Harbor Freight.

Harbor Freight Tools - Coupon Review from San Jose, California
I came to Harbor Freight store on Blossom Hill Rd first time ever on Sunday July 27th (refer from my friends)and bought some items. I also had given the associate Katherine two free items Tape measure and Heavy Duties Silver Tarpe.
But the associate only gave me one free item Tape measure and I didnt notice it until yesterday Aug 4th when one associate told me as I shopped at store that day. I went there again today Aug 5th and talked with both associate Katherine and the manager Michael at the store about the issue. Michael always said that he coud not give me the coupon for the Tarp Heavy Duties back, and also said the grey color is never to given as FREE ITEM before. He can only refunded the amount of the item for me.
I was really getting mad because of both his voice and his customer service behavior. The item only costs $4.99 but the associate and manager acted like I told a lie..... I had said to him that if the grey color is not given as FREE, can I just got the blue color instead with the same material? The manager always SAYS NO to me....
Iam the new customer and new to the store, so when I just came to the store on July 27th, the associate Katherine did not explain anything to me about obtained a FREE item per day per customer. It is not my fault anyway and it had been wasting my time coming there 10 miles from my house in order to talk to them but getting nothing in return.
I finally returned all items back and said YOU GUYS HAD A VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I WILL NEVER NEVER COME BACK AGAIN ANY STORES. My purpose to post this comment is to want the CEO of this store know and understand about their customers' concerns and comments.
Harbor Freight Tools - Shop Crane Review
DAMAGE FROM FAULTY MERCHANDISE / ACID BURNS
Shopping experience
Sub-standard Performance. Drill-Bits could damage Chuck.
over the years I've bought a few small items from HF, mainly simple tools and supplies: hand tools, painting gloves, chip brushes, etc. Most of these items have been about of the quality I expected (you get what you pay for), but occasionally the quality was better than that (as with their Nitrile gloves).
Anyway, about two years ago I purchased a 10A Rotary Hammer-drill from HF, an item they've sold for many years, and shortly after that, I purchased a set of replacement "Drill Master" SDS drill bits for the same drill-motor. Since owning the roto-hammer, it has seen what I would classify as light use (I've drilled probably the equivalent of a dozen 3/4" holes, 12 inches deep with it (for stubbing rebar into cured concrete).
Up until this Spring, the drill performed pretty well, but then seemed to develop an intermittent problem with running. Initially, I thought this was due to thermal protection, but then discovered that it was because the brushes already needed replacement (I noticed an unusual amount of arcing, and when I pulled the brushes and cleaned them the problem, temporarily resolved). So, I contacted HF to see if they carried the replacement carbon brushes for this tool. I was told they did not. This really surprised me and seemed like a basic customer service necessity--if you are going to sell power tools you should support them for a minimum of 5 to 10 years in my opinion.
I did, however, find the brushes available elsewhere online--they haven't arrived yet, though, so still crossing my fingers.
Regarding the heavy duty "Drill Master" SDS masonry drill bits that I ordered from HF (16" long, 1" to 5/16" diameter). These bits initially really seemed to be well made. They cut extremely well and the tips showed almost no sign of wear after drilling a couple of holes. The problem came when I tried to remove them from the drill. It turns out that the SDS splined-end of the drill was not heat-treated properly and twisted slightly into a helix as I was drilling, making it nearly impossible to remove from the drill-motor's chuck without damaging the tool! I actually had to lock the bit into a vise and yank on the drill to remove it!
Unfortunately, I didn't use these bits until after the (standard) HF 90-day warranty had expired, though, so too bad for me.
Buyer beware.

If you bought a pump you must need a pump right? Why didn't you just exchange the non-working pump for a pump that works. You make it seem like you just used the pump and now want a refund without paying the restock fee which is to prevent people from doing what you appear to be doing.
You advocate lying and think you can justify it?
Wow, I'll bet you go to Walmart too don't you?
Do you teach your children these immoral lessons?
