Black Friday advertise fraud

Our store in Vidalia ga opened at 7:00. Arrived to purchase the 8750 generator.

They said they sold them all Wednesday and they had none! They should have kept some for advertised Friday sale.

I think I should be compensated for not having any fir sale. Call 812-381-****

It's not advertising fraud since they're not advertising they have it in stock. Theyre advertising a price.

Plus, if you ask, they can give you a raincheck for the price. It is not their fault it was overly popular and inventory is based on first come first serve, not sales. It wouldn't make sense to save product before a sale.

They're there to make money, not appease you. Call ahead before making the trip next time.

Long time to order

It took 28 paid minutes to order.

1.The questions were not logical and I suspect the software used. CS jumped around on who was who , where it was going, confusion on the credit card and worse I could not get a gift option because I did not want the price shown.

You would think that with HFs billions profit they could include that on the check out as a lot of women buy gifts for their husbands. So here I am with the price tag on it and where it is from. How hard is it to put on the checkout payment a GIFT OPTION??????. Dozens of store have this service built in on the checkout, why not HF.

It is not just for men! Really annoyed as I do a lot of shopping there only to be told that the packers cannot take out the packing slip. Don't they have to put one in?

2. Since I contract out, why do I have to phone in my Tax Exempt request every single order only to be met with the above example?

Who can run a business like that?

Again why is it not on the checkout? Come on HF you can do better than the system you have now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Took my money and never got my items

i called the number on invoice and the manager josh in the carmarillo store hung up on me twice when i call corp they never answer there phone not happy want my 141 dollars back been waiting 2 weeks this is bull and never been treated so disrespectfully before in my life from a so called manager

I am going thru the same thing right now but i have got a lot more money on the line $2400 to be exact I placed my order on 11/3/18 and still haven't received my order as of yet and its 12/21 but i did receive 7 skids of as is reclaimed tools which I sent back (now starting to think if I should of keep them lol,no i wouldn't that)good luck hope it all works out for the both of us

Harbor Freight Tools - Sale coupon was NOT honored

Harbor freight sucks! A couple weeks ago, I was sent their sales flyer depicting the 6x8 green house on sale for $199.99.

I even called ahead to confirm price and availability.When I got there it rang up $317 and change with tax. Of course I no longer had the coupon but sourced it online. They would NOT honor the sale price stating I had to be an ICP member ro have it at that price, after I was sent a coupon stating otherwise.

Today is 3-15-18 and the coupon expires 3-31-18. The store was located in Wyoming,Pa.The manager was also very ignorant and should not hold a managerial position.

Many reviews are in regards to returns! My question is this, if I return a compressor because it seized up after I strictly followed the instructions, why would I be charged a RESTOCKING FEE when you have no business putting a clearly defective product back in stock but should, in fact, be shipping it back to the manufacturer to correct the defects (or throw it out if they prefer)?

The more likely result is that you, after making sure the box has everything inside it (i.e. booklets, accessories, etc.) Seal it back up, put it on the shelf to await its next chance to garner yet another restocking fee for the store!

Your not charged a restocking fee for defective items. Restocking fees applies only to items return in good conditioned that have been opened but returned for no reason.

The reason is because they now have to open box the item and sell it as a discounted price because they rented a tool. Or sometimes they have to send it back to warehouse and that cost money.

Just because they are a business does t mean they have free shipping. But no restocking fees on defective items.

You shoukd read the restocking policy then..cause then everyone comes in saying defective. The four reasons why they waive fee is one returned in unopened condition.

Two returmed and exchanged within ninety days. Three returned using extended warranty and four exchanged for similar item.

Also manager or leader on duty has a right to make the best decision for the store. If they are a repeat returner meaning there every few weeks to return it and claiming its defective then the system will now deny the return. Unless again it has extended warranty.

Gasket in the pump piston has broke and need a new one and do not know where or how to order it I have tried everyone so that's what I need is that great big thick rubbery gasket that goes in the bottom that seats in the pump

False advertising

I have a Harbor Freight ad for October 5-8, 2018 and there is a Super Coupon offering a 20% discount on 'any single item'..... except you will have to read the fine print and trust me it is fine. The fine print excludes other discounts or coupons, and then 12 general categories of tools and equipment as ineligible, and then finishes off with 18 specific names of tools or manufacturers that are also ineligible. I talked with one of the managers who essentially blew me off and said 'that is the way it is'. Most everything at Harbor Freight is always on some coupon or has some discount listed which essentially eliminates anything of value being able to be discounted at all, and certainly not 20%. The 20% discount is basically not a discount for most of the items that one would go to Harbor Freight to purchase. Maybe it would work for cable ties or a screw driver, but not for standard tools and equipment. Why the games, the lures, do they think that people are that gullible, perhaps so. I personally will shop somewhere else. Lee - St. Paul, Mn.

Store Manager of Ventura Threatened me!!

I went to return a pressure washer that did not work after spending $377.10, to be told that in order to return it, I had to empty out the gas from the machine. I had a small gas can in my truck, so I poured the gas into the can over a planter so it didn't spill on the parking lot; when I went back into the store to return the machine, the store manager came up to me and said so you want to return this, and asked if the gas was all out and then said he saw me pouring out the gas in the parking lot.

He then started going off on me in front of customers yelling and screaming at me that it was bad for the environment etc. Clearly he didn't see me dumping it into a gas can... he then threatened to call the cops and use my information from the store receipt and then threatened to come after me and take my picture. Little did he know that I put the gas in my gas can and how dare he threaten me in front of customers and harass me in public over something he knows nothing about!!!

Then threaten to use my contact information???? That is illegal!!!! I am shocked that this is a allowed!

He is a lawsuit waiting to happen. If one of my employees confronted a client it this same manner in front of others they would be fired no questions asked.

Central Machinery 12x36 wood lathe SKU T34706 stopped working

My six month old Central Machinery 12x36 wood lathe SKU T34706 would not turn on.

Their website customer service electronic form allowed reporting this and my request for part numbers for the on/off switch and the motor's capacitor since these were likely the cause.

Harbor Freight confirmed receipt of my service request within 24 hours and answered via EMAIL how to purchase both parts within 48 hours.

Removing the switch for service revealed it was packed with sawdust that insulated its metal contacts.

I cleaned out the wood dust which repaired the problem.

They ask customers not use EMAIL reply, so if they monitor this forum, I am expressing appreciation for prompt support from Michael Roberts at harborfreight.com

What are these kind of words being used by Harbor Freight? I was merely going to ask when the alleged new store in Goldsboro, NC is going to be opened??????? And, I'm greeted by foul language asking "what I'm pissed at"--- Get serious, please-- That's all I have to say , I guess in less then 100 words-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------. Please do not order from Harbor Freight Tools! I ordered a tool chest for my son on 7/23 and their system says the order is complete even though the item has not been delivered! Today is 8/8. They said it is complete because they delivered to the trucking company. Trucking company has been a no show 3 different times! Getting a run around from them. Seems Harbor Freight should take responsibility since they hired them. But no one there wants to take any responsibility even after repeatedly asking for a supervisor. This is BS! Harbor Freight Tools you have lost any future business from me or my clients!! Do you not believe in customer service?

I was contacted by the District Manager who had to Laurel store manager call me and solved the problem and insured that they would have training to cover this type of problem. These men get it.

Your service is pitiful. First I called the store Friday and a representative said my sawhorse item # 60710 was not in stock and I could call Monday and see if they got any in. Sunday I decided to call back and the said we have plenty so you can come in and get them. I drove the 20 minutes from Jessup to Laurel in the rain only to be treated like crap. I went to your Laurel, MD store and wanted to buy the sawhorses advertised in the June Flyer but forgot my coupon. The lady manager there said that I have to have my coupon. I showed her the flyer but she said I have to have my coupon. I told her I forgot it and that I had to drive a ways to come there and she basically blew me off. I called back when I got home and talked to another manager named Brandy and explained the situation and she hung up one me. When I tried to order online it does not show the discounted price. I was told you do not have site to store like Walmart and other chains that get it. I left a poor review on Yelp and I will be we worst customer nightmare after the way your people have treated me.

Typical, since you failed to bring the coupon that has the barcode on it, they must be evil. NOT getting your way doesn’t make them bad.

How is it their fault at all?? YOU FORGOT THE COUPON!! Were you perhaps expecting that they would just give you the promo without the one piece of paper that would have made it work? You failed!

You failed! You failed! So PLEASE tell the entire world how YOUR FAILURE is THEIR FAULT. Are YOU going to pay the salary of whomever you would have gotten fired for bypassing the promo?

No people like you just CANNOT take responsibility for YOUR FAILURES!! Thankfully a judge can read and understand reality and if they sue YOU for defamation you have no one to blame but yourself.

Personally I don’t leave the house to buy anything until I’m sure I have everything. It’s a good practice to get into.

Brought in the flyer which had the same price and code as the "coupon" and was STILL blown off. The "manager" made NO effort to resolve the problem whatsoever.

If you would take the time to read rather than spout off crame you would note I had the June flyer with me which contained the same information, same bar code, same item number same promotion .Having been in management in customer service I know an easy problem to fix. You DON'T let a customer let alone a NEW customer walk out the door when the problem is easily taken care ofIf I did that in my field I WOULD be looking for a job.

Obviously retail isn’t your area of expertise. I get that.

But we are speaking of people’s jobs!! Had they taken your flier as the coupon the person that did so WOULD BE FIRED!!! Their LP DEPT is pretty strict about employees following the promo to the letter otherwise the employee is accused of theft!! It doesn’t matter that you had a flier, THEY NEEDED THE COUPON!!

You know so they don’t get fired. Just admit that you failed to bring the right item and move on. The employees are NOT making this personal as YOU ARE!!! The employees MUST follow the instructions of their corporate masters or no workie there!!

I’m sure even in whatever field you did work in, you had to say no to other people. Reflect back to them and what YOU thought of the individuals who asked you to do something you couldn’t without being fired. I’m pretty sure given that you can understand that those poor employees CANNOT put their jobs on the line for you because you wanted your way. If you came to me and said something like “hey gimme a deal” and I couldn’t do it , I would inform you of the best option.

In your case it’s quite simple. Go get the coupon!! Not them being bad just YOU failing to bring your coupon. If you have not worked in retail you really don’t have a understanding of all the hoops a poor cashier has to jump through.

Then add onto that someone ABUSING YOU because YOU couldn’t give them their way. You and you alone are the person responsible for the coupon. If it was a flier why did you not just grab another one at the front door?? It would have had a coupon in it that you could use.

And before you start NOPE!! Sorry your assumption is anyone who posts MUST work for them. I do not but I have worked in retail from a cashier up to lose prevention. So I have a little experience with HOW coupons work.

Remember while it looks like a register it’s NOT!! It’s a computer. If the coupon itself isn’t scanned yet the cashier will be fired for theft.

I worked for a national retail concern as a supervisor and manager for a service department. As a supervisor anyone worth their paycheck knows that you punch in an over ride code as now everything is computerized ; *** even the flyers and coupons come to me via email.

So yeah i forgot the coupon but as a manager and in the interest in retaining business, I have made decisions involving major appliances like refrigerators, tv's , a/c's and the like.The trick is to offer incentives to the customer to make them WANT to continue to return.In this case, no effort was placed by a manager to resolve this without me travelling to get a "coupon" that is coded in the system for a sale item.Long story short. I buy everything online use site to store , don't pay shipping and know when someone is good at management and customer service and which companies care about customers.This tells me all I need to know about this outfit.

that's pretty dumb.

But contact The Outlet, or reach out to your DM directly. HFT doesn't condone that behavior and writing about it online doesn't give them an opportunity to address it.

Harbor Freight Lied About Its LIfetime Tool Guarantee ...

Harbor claims to return any hand tool that fails or is defective over the original lifetime purchaser ... I took a hand tool into a Tucson store today and poke to the Manager named Pablo.

I showed him the failed tool and a copy of my receipt. He told me that since the purchase was more then 90 days that he could not return the tool or credit the purchase with another tool. I explained that the tool was a poor design and how the tool broke and what improvements could be made to make the tool better ... he said that he would pass the inform on, but still could not make a return.

Today, I will call the corporate store and request that I be able to return all tool in my shop ... because I never want to buy from Harbor Freight again.

You can check your records on your computer me and my son were there on Monday to buy a predator 6.5 motor went to use the coupon the lady said that I was not allowed to return the motor and that I was not allowed to purchase it with the coupon then the manager told me to get out of the store I'm an older man the manager has been a real jerk for like 3 years since we've been going to this Harbor Freight in Moreno Valley you really need to discipline this man or else I was going to kick his *** in the parking lot my son really wanted to kick his *** we were disrespected and it was about four witnesses there go back and review your DVR I do security cameras so I know you have it it was about 10:30 on Monday morning I was going to spend almost $300 I wanted the Predator 6.5 motor and they totally jerk me around in front of other people we were very polite you can check your video footage the manager is a total jerk you better do something about that man or he's going to end up in the hospital or you guys are going to get sued I should contact an attorney by the way I was treated also I emailed you a dozen times my wife is emailed you too my name is Terry Hill my phone number is 951-581-**** I'd appreciate a call I spent a lot of money over the years at your store over 30 $40,000 plus I built a store in Beaumont I did all the plumbing there so at least you could help me out please give me a call so we can discuss this matter

False advertisement

The manager of the store name is John was walking around the store with me and my son we were putting things in the buggy we came across a merchandise that I already had in a buggy and came across the same merchandise was cheaper and I decided that I wanted the one that was cheaper and he said I could not have that one because it was put in the wrong place I repeated that it was not my fault and I wanted that one he repeated no I cannot have it so I put the entire buggy back and left out the store because as a customer if a product is put where it is labeled you entitled to pay that advertised price and he refused to give it to me at that price as a manager he should have authorized that price because he was standing beside me when we both saw it so shame on him for not satisfied a customer he does not need to be in that position the price was only a $20 difference but at the end of the day it was about the morals that people stand behind what is advertise will not recommend you our store to family or friends again and will not shop there again customers should always be treated as customers especially when the manager saw did the merchandise was there along with the customer bad judgement on his part. Call the store you went to, ask for the district managers phone number so you can file a complaint. I worked for the company and if you ask they are allowed to give that out, they're just supposed to give the DM a heads up. If that doesn't work email cs@***.com as they don't monitor these websites for complaints but this situation was clearly wrong and they should learn from it.
